Leaves of Three a Shamrock Be
Both of these pictures were the result of a Google search for "shamrock images free".
Every year around this time, you can find depictions of shamrocks everywhere. You can also find depictions of four leaf clovers, imitations, “sham shamrocks”.
In fact, when I Googled Shamrock images free, more depictions of four leaf clovers came up than three leaf clovers. I find this amazing for two reasons:
1. Four leaf clovers are hard to find; that’s why finding one is considered lucky.
2. Shamrocks were used by St. Patrick to teach the Holy Trinity. Even if you do not know what the Holy Trinity, you would likely know that “tri” means three, and perhaps might follow that train of thought to determine that shamrocks must have three leaves, not four.
Okay, my rant of the day is over now. But if you post a picture of a four leaf clover and say “Happy St. Patrick’s Day,” I just may start again.
